Bruce Willis’s Family Reveals New Details About His Diagnosis
It’s hard to believe that it has only been since 2022 that Bruce Willis gave up acting. At the time, the family thought that he had aphasia because that was the official diagnosis.
Since he had aphasia, he was unable to communicate and it continued to go downhill. His ex-wife, Demi Moore and his current wife, Emma Heming Willis along with her children were optimistic although realistic.
In 2023, the family received an update that really took a bad turn. His wife went on Instagram to thank fans and followers for the outpouring of love and support and all of the wonderful stories they had received since the diagnosis.
She then went on to say that they have a deeper understanding of what he is experiencing. That was true because of the update in the diagnosis to frontotemporal dementia.
This type of condition creates a lot of challenges with communication but that is only one of the aspects of the disease. He will be facing the painful and serious issue for the rest of his life.
A website that is dedicated to frontotemporal degeneration was shared by the family. They want people to know that when you are under 60, it is a common form of dementia. There is no cure but they are hoping to bring attention to the disease.
The family wrote: “Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others, and to raise awareness about important issues both publicly and privately. We know in our hearts that – if he could today – he would want to respond by bringing global attention and a connectedness with those who are also dealing with this debilitating disease and how it impacts so many individuals and their families.”
